Crestinismul neajutorat si neputincios este o conceptie eretica doarece nesocoteste indemului Domnului (Matei 10:16 "fiti dar intelepti ca serpii si nevinovati ca porumbeii") si trece peste textele Sfantului Pavel (Efeseni 5:17 "Drept aceea, nu fiti fara minte", 2 Tim 4:5 "tu fi treaz in toate", Tit 1:8 "sa fie... treaz la mine" si mai indeosebi 1 Cor. 14:20 "Fratilor nu fiti copii la minte; ci la rautate fiti copii, iar la minte fiti oameni mari." )<br />
Nicaieri si niciodata nu ne-a cerut Cristos sa fim prosti. Ne cheama sa fim buni, blanzi, cinstiti, smeriti cu inima, dar nu tampiti. Cum de-ar fi putut proslavi prostia Cel care ne da sfatul de-a fi mereu treji ca sa nu ne lasam surprinsi de Satana? Si-apoi, tot la 1 Cor. 14:33 sta scris ca "Dumnezeu nu este un Dumnezeu al neoranduielii". Iar randuiala se opune mai presus de orice neindemanarii zapacite, slabiciunii nehotarate, neintelegerii obtuze. Domnul iubeste nevinovatia, nu imbecilitatea. Iubesc naivitatea, zice si Leon Daudet, dar nu la barbosi. Barbosii se cad sa fie intelepti. Sa stim, si ei, si noi, ca mai mult rau iese adeseori de pe urma prostiei decat a rautatii. Nu, slujitorilor diavolului, adica smecherilor, prea le-ar veni la indemana sa fim prosti. Dumnezeu, printre altele, ne porunceste sa fim inteligenti. Doi dintre cei mai faimosi au fost Gorgias si Protagoras. Sofistii erau sceptici cu privire la posibilitatea de a demonstra adevaruri absolute si mai curand credeau ca existau motive pentru a sustine atat o teza, cat si contrariul ei. O aceeasi teza putea sa se dovedeasca adevarata sau falsa in functie de contextul in care se sustinea. Din acest motiv, ei erau deosebit de interesati de chestiuni de retorica. Sofistii mai sustineau si un fel de relativism moral, conform caruia nu exista un bine sau un rau absolut, intrucat ceea ce este bine pentru unii se poate dovedii rau pentru altii, lucru valabil si pentru justitie.<br />
O conceptie relativista asupra justitiei si de aceea asemanatoare cu cea a sofistilor o putem gasi intr-o veche povestire araba care demonstreaza cat de absurd este relativismul sofistilor:<br />
"Doi prieteni care erau intr-un litigiu s-au dus la cadiu ca sa le faca dreptate.<br />
Unul dintre ei a expus cazul in felul urmator:<br />
- Prietenul meu m-a tradat. A intrat la mine in casa cand eu erau plecat, mi-a furat magarul si banii. Cer sa fie pedepsit dupa dreptate.<br />
Cadiul a spus:<br />
- Ai dreptate.<br />
Atunci celalalt s-a aparat aducand urmatoarele argumente:<br />
- Nimic din toate acestea nu este adevarat: eu nu am furat acel magar, ci mi l-am luat inapoi, pentru ca eu i l-am imprumutat mai intai, iar el nu mai voia sa mi-l inapoieze. De asemenea, imi datora acei bani. Cand el a venit acasa s-a napustit asupra mea sa ma loveasca. Mie trebuie sa-mi faci dreptate, nu lui.<br />
- Ai dreptate, a incuviintat cadiul.<br />
- Domnule, nu se poate ca amandoi sa aibe dreptate, a intervenit ajutorul cadiului.<br />
Iar cadiul i-a raspuns:<br />
